MIKE KEAHBONE

Mike grew up in the small town of Elgin, Oklahoma. His father was a full-blood Cherokee and his mother was Comanche and Kiowa. Though he comes from a proud Native heritage, his family was ravaged by alcohol and drug addiction. As a “teenage mom,” Mike’s mother was in and out of his life and would eventually pass away at the age of 40 due to an alcohol related illness. Mike’s father was completely absent from his life.

Mike seeks to honor God and teach Scripture to all people. Mike combines deep and practical teaching of Scripture with relevant humor, stories, and principles for life change. God has gifted Mike with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit that leads him to understand the needs of his audience and to say exactly what they need to hear through the truth of God’s Word. He inspires to provoke a passion for Scripture in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. As Mike explains, “God has given me a clear, passionate vision to fulfill the calling of Colossians 1:28, to present everyone perfect in Christ.”

Mike currently resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with his wife and three children and serves as the Senior Pastor at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church.

SKILLS

_CONFERENCE

BIRTH - 5 YRS
MASSEY CHAPEL

I can not wait to greet all of my friends at the nursery this year! We will be having nursery during our afternoon and evening service in the Massey Chapel; we open the doors to the nursery 30 minutes before service. Our main focus this year for the nursery is age appropriate engaging bible lessons. I think safety and education are the top priorities when caring for children. There is nothing more amazing than watching a child figure out how something works and understand a concept for the first time. To achieve and ensure the safety and enjoyment of the nursery for our littles we will have engaging games, songs, stories and activities for them! Now in order to have all this fun we do have to have a few rules; the number of children allowed in the nursery is based on the number of workers who have volunteered for the nursery. I will not permit more than 10 children per two volunteers and will not exceed a maximum of 80 children. However, ratio and maximum are at my discretion and are subject to change.

❖ For a full list of rules click here , all parents will be required to sign before dropping off children.

❖ If you would like to pre-fill out a nursery enrollment form to make the line seem a little shorter, please email me.

❖ If you would like to volunteer for the nursery and help us care for these amazing children, please email me or Candace Leach.

_NURSERY

The Challenge is a program to encourage our camp churches to participate in all the great activities scheduled at Indian Falls Creek. The program assigns point value to all activities or events listed.

IFC would operate very poorly if it was not for the many volunteers that assist us each year.

Churches in the past have won Big Screen TVs, Frontier City / White Water Bay Tickets, IPads, Backpacks filled with school supplies, Gift Cards,  and various other donated items.

Josie bacon is the director and can be contacted at bacon.josie@gmail.com

Please register and pick up a tally sheet the first day at camp in the Missions Center.
